CZ DUTY 4.0 F

Triangle shooters asked for the new CZ striker pistol, so here it is. The DUTY 4.0 is CZ's new-generation 9x19mm, and it swaps a serialized frame for a serialized modular chassis: the numbered part is inside, and the fiberglass-reinforced polymer grip frame is modular. CZ fitted a 4-inch unthreaded barrel, fixed sights, and a slide milled for direct-mount optics; Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield dots all appear in the factory photos. The refined SFDA trigger pulls 5.6 pounds, plus or minus 0.9, over 9 mm with a 4 mm reset.

In Raleigh, Durham and Greensboro, down I-85 through Concord, Salisbury and Charlotte, and toward Fayetteville and Southern Pines, the DUTY 4.0 C compact (15+1, 5.3 inches tall) is the one most people carry, while the F full-size (17+1, 5.6 inches tall) is the home and range pistol. Both are 7.4 inches long and 1.3 inches wide, and both come as MS models with a manual thumb safety.

Capacity on the full-frame is 17+1 standard and 19+1 with the extended base plate. Height 5.6 in (143 mm), empty weight 27.7 oz (780 g). It is the duty-belt, range and home-defense version of the line, and the one most buyers find easiest to shoot well.

What is new under the slide is the registered modular chassis. The serial number lives on the internal chassis, not on the polymer grip, so the frame module is a part you can change while the gun stays the same gun. Around it CZ put a reworked SFDA striker trigger, rated at 25 ± 4 N (5.6 ± 0.9 lbs) with a 0.16 in (4 mm) reset and 9 ± 1 mm (0.4 ± 0.04 in) of travel, and a slide cut for direct-mount optics. CZ's own photos show it wearing Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield reflex sights.

This version has no external safety lever. It relies on three passive safeties, firing pin block, trigger safety and drawbar safety, and the trigger is the same as on the MS model. Shooters who prefer a lever should pick the MS.

The CZ DUTY 4.0 F suits anyone who wants a modern optics-ready 9mm with CZ's grip and a trigger that is better than the class average: home defense, duty use, competition and long range sessions where the extra grip and two more rounds matter.
