Savage's Fox Model B BSE is a side-by-side field gun, and this 1970s example, serial A270863, is a 20 gauge with 27.75-inch vent rib barrels chambered for 3-inch shells. The chokes are fixed at Modified and Improved Modified. The bores are excellent. It has a blued finish and checkered wood stock and forend with a 13.75-inch length of pull. The finish shows moderate marks throughout and the stock has light marks, which leaves it very good overall.

A 20-gauge double with Modified and Improved Modified bores is a classic upland gun, and the short 13.75-inch pull fits smaller shooters or anyone wearing a heavy coat. Shotguns are legal for North Carolina deer in gun season as well, so with the right load it can work the November woods after the bird fields, with hunter orange on whenever gun season is open.
