An original German Army officer's dagger from the Second World War, sold used under stock number MEW4326 in our fighting knives and daggers group. The blade measures 10 inches, is still bright and shows only minimal wear. There is no maker's mark on the piece. The pommel, the scabbard and the silver-plated guard have all taken on an even aged patina that matches the age of the dagger, and the fittings remain solid.
The supplier grades the dagger very good overall, with the lines of the hilt and scabbard still crisp. Unmarked Heer daggers are bought as representative examples of what officers wore in the field and with dress uniform. A North Carolina collector of wartime German edged weapons gets a complete dagger with scabbard here, suited to display alongside other period officer accoutrements. It is a single used item, sold as shown in the photos.
