Remington's Model 770 is a modern bolt-action rifle, and this one is chambered in .243 Winchester with a 22-inch round barrel. It comes topped with an unmarked 3-9 power scope, feeds from a detachable magazine and has a side-mounted safety. The metal wears a matte blue finish and the stock is synthetic. Apart from light handling marks it rates very good overall, and the bore is excellent.

A scoped .243 bolt gun is a practical deer rifle for North Carolina, where rifles are legal during gun season. Depending on your zone, that season opens October 17, November 14, November 21 or November 28 and runs to January 1, 2027. The detachable magazine makes unloading at the truck quick, the synthetic stock does not mind rain, and hunter orange is required whenever you carry it in the woods during gun season.
