This is a leather cartridge box from the Spanish-American War period, made by McKenney & Co., offered as a used military accoutrement under SKU MIS2628. The leather has kept a rich color and shows the cracking and handling wear you would expect of its age. The supplier rates its overall condition very good. The listing files it under bags, sacks and packs rather than with firearm parts.

A box like this suits a North Carolina collector of Spanish-American War gear or anyone outfitting a period display, where the honest wear on the leather is part of the story. It is a piece of equipment, not ammunition, so it is handled like any other leather collectible. Treat the cracking as stated and store it as you would any old leather item; the photographs show the color and surface better than any grading word can.
