The J.P. Sauer 404 Classic XT is a takedown bolt-action hunting rifle, and this 2017 example, serial B011787, is chambered in .243 Winchester with a 21-inch barrel. It wears a rubber stock and comes with quick-detach 30mm scope rings. The bore is bright with strong rifling. Apart from very minor wear on the finish and the stock it is in excellent condition, and the package includes the case and a sling with the takedown tool stored inside.

A takedown rifle packs into its case for the drive to a lease on the other side of the state, which matters in North Carolina where the Western zone opens November 28 and the coastal zones open October 17. The .243 is a legal deer cartridge throughout gun season, the rubber stock stands up to wet weather, and the QD rings let you lift the scope for travel and return it. Hunter orange is required in gun season.
